Am I the only one who is disheartened by the inane rubbish that has become womanhood?
Am I the only thirty-something female who doesn’t read vampire romance novels? Surely not, but to look at the Facebook community comprised of people living near me, one would think so. I do not scrapbook, I do not have a collection of overpriced baskets, and I do not hate my children or husband. When did womanhood (I mean full on, hardcore, not-twenty-anymore adulthood) mean learning spirituality from Oprah and hiding our heads under the pillows each night with a copy of The Notebook or Twilight to coo us to sleep with fairytale whispers?
Have women always been so weak? We are only weak because we distract ourselves rather than educate ourselves and welcome laziness rather than resourcefulness. Perhaps there is just nothing worth fighting for anymore so we lull.
